About PrimeWare

PrimeWare products are produced from 100% sustainable resources.  That means that the raw materials used to produce PrimeWare are annually renewable.

The demand for environmentally sound tableware is growing at a rapid pace. PrimeWare offers your customers a responsible choice to help meet that demand.

Our Products

We refer to PrimeWare products as “molded fiber”, not pulp.  The word “pulp” does not create the image of a clean, food-safe product, so we do not use it in discussions of our products.

PrimeWare products contain an additive for moisture and grease resistance. PrimeWare is not coated with any wax or plastic.

Note: All manufacturers of molded fiber products use similar additives, and it is FDA approved.

PrimeWare products meet the GB18006.1-1999 conditions for environmentally friendly disposable food packaging product, FDA guidelines for food contact surfaces and meet ASTM D6868 guidelines.

PrimeWare products are disposable and compostable.

In a commercial composting facility, they decompose in less than 60 days.

Yes.  Custom sizes may require new molds, which is not a problem. We can do rim prints on all of our larger plates (9” and larger) and platters.  The print can be either one or two colors, but minimums apply.  Please contact us for details.

PrimeWare products are made with renewable natural molded fiber in their production.  There is no chlorine in PrimeWare products.

PrimeWare products are produced from 100% natural molded fiber raw material.  Natural molded fiber is a by-product of the refining process. NOTE: Many other types of raw materials can be used to produce high quality molded fiber products for the foodservice industry, such as reed, sugarcane, bamboo, and many types of grasses.

PrimeWare products are microwaveable and freezer safe.

Green Terms

Biodegradable matter is all organic material and other artificial material that can be broken down by air, water, and bacteria. A biodegradable product has the ability to break down relatively quickly into raw materials of the natural environment.

Bagasse is the fibrous residue remaining after sugarcane or sorghum stalks are crushed to extract their juice and is currently used as a renewable resource in the manufacture of pulp and paper products and building materials.

For more information on bagasse, see wikipedia.

Compost is broken down organic matter which is produced when micro-organisms and bacteria generate heat and decompose waste and organic food. Compost is a great fertilizer and will aerate the soil and give it the nutrients it needs.

When something is “compostable”, it means that it is made of organic matter that will break down in a compost system.  PrimeWare’s natural molded fiber tableware products and hinged lid containers are fully compostable.
